Well I waited a week since it’s release and Windows 7 has resulted in no service calls. This tells me one of two things, either the new operating system is so good it requires no work or nobody in the commuity has upgraded to the new Windows 7.
I would like to think from a consumer perspective that it is a solid operating system and there will be no problems with it. But, from a business perspective obviously that would not be a good thing.
Either way i’ll be interested to see when our 1st Windows 7 job comes in-house.

Personally Dan, I am telling clients to wait 6 months and let everyone else beta-test it for them. As for me… Win Xp Pro is working fine and I will wait until the rest of the guinea’s break in the horse….

Well no sooner did I post this that our 1st Windows 7 computer came in the store. Not only that but he brought his monitor.
Apparently the screen was not showing up a full display and he wanted Norton removed. Rather easy job and I’m sure they will get a lot more complicated as time goes on.

I haven’t had any computer repair call outs yet for Windows 7 in Cambridge UK – but thinking back it took quite a while before I started getting callouts for Vista when that came out three years ago
I’ve been running the beta and the release candidate for about 6 months now and absolutely love it!

I’ve had some calls. Mostly people wanting to order Win7 from me. A few seeking upgrade advice. So far no problems to repair though.

Windows 7 really seems to be a good operating system. Hopefully Microsoft can release updates and patches to keep it that way. No matter how good an operating system is, overtime it will need some updates to take care of new security thread and Etc.

Windows 7 has worked out a lot better for me than XP ever did. Although I could really use less flash errors but that is Adobe’s fault. I am sure Microsoft will keep Win 7 for a while before introducing a new OS.
