Are you tracking your advertising dollars? My wife called a place yesterday to make an appointment. All I heard was my wife repeating herself 3 times about how she found this place. To me this means one thing….This business wants to track how they are located.

Can all business owners say the same? Do you track where your jobs come from? Do you really track where jobs come from? I know alot of times i’ll ask other businesses this very question and I typically always get a yes….Yet, i’ve been in these businesses and I can tell that alot of them think they are tracking but they aren’t.

With todays economy and watching every dollar that is spent in your business it is imperative that you track this type of activity. It could actually mean the difference in thousands of dollars that you are spending on something that is not working. Now if you are like some businesses and now you realize that you really do not track these things like you should then you can still try to fix this. Send out a newsletter to all your customers or whatever you want and let them know that their business is important and to better serve them you would appreciate them answering a few questions.

You can ask things like:
1. How would you rate our service: Fair – Good – Outstanding
2. Were we courteous to you? Yes – No
3. How did you locate us? Online – Verizon Book – Yellow Book – Newspaper

You can put any questions you want. Another way to do it is actually put a link on your site with the questions and have it e-mail you the results when people fill it out.

The bottom line is with the economy you need to watch the spending and make sure you are not spending needless dollars….

I found you on Google while looking for computer support and repair blogs because I am looking for content. I can really appreciate what you are saying about spending money advertising dollars wisely. Google adwords only allows you information if the client purchases online. We talk to all clients and only take credit cards over the phone so it is VERY hard to know which ads are working.

When it comes to finding us in computer support and repair categories we have also added client feedback and technical solutions sections to our website in hopes that this will help us with our rank.

Thank you for providing this blog – It is very helpful!

    John
