To repair or to replace is one of the main choices of the customer who have problems in his/her PC. It is very important to for the customer to know how bad the PC was damaged. Also important, is the cost of the repair compared to the cost of the new replacement. Or, if the repair would last or not.

I think it also depends on how infected the computer is. I would always recommend to backup the important info before you suggest scrapping the computer.

This topic is a hot thing to discuss. The life-cycle of a PC is getting shorter and a new computer is not costly. For example, if a 4+ years old computer needs to replace part(s), it makes sense to get a new one.
